How Does Sefaria Use AI?

Sefaria is dedicated to bringing the People of the Book into the modern digital era, and we are committed to investigating how emerging technologies can be harnessed to develop innovative methods for accessing, searching, exploring, and comprehending Jewish texts. The visionary approach of our founders in digitizing Jewish texts as machine-readable content continues to position Sefaria — along with other organizations — to capitalize on cutting-edge technological developments, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs). 

As noted elsewhere, we have used AI tools as part of our project to curate certain Topic pages for our community, as well as in other projects, such as the Pirkei Avot Study Guide.
