How to Change Your Preferred Translation

Designating your preferred translation language on Sefaria ensures that it is the default language that will appear whenever you view a Sefaria Library text in a bilingual view. 

To update your default translation settings:

1. Click on the Sefaria Library profile button, found in the top right corner of your screen, to open a dropdown menu.
2. Click on Account Settings, the third option on the dropdown menu.
3. Click on your desired language, found under the Preferred Translation Language subheading.
4. Click on the Save button, found at the top of the page. 

Please note: 

• Not all languages in the Sefaria Library are available as default translation languages at this time. The current options are: English, Español, Français, and Deutsch.
• Not all texts are available in all languages. If a text appears without a translation, this means we do not currently have that language available in the Sefaria Library. If a text only has an English translation, the English translation version will appear even if you have indicated another language as your preferred default translation.
