Quick Guide: Meet the Table of Contents Team Sefaria Updated January 16, 2026 16:47 In the Sefaria Library, both text categories (e.g. Tanakh or Mishnah) and specific texts have a corresponding Table of Contents (ToC), designed to make it easier for users to navigate sources of any length.You can find the Text Category Table of Contents in two ways:>>> Learn more about the homepageTo find the TOC by accessing the Resource Panel: Click on any passage of text to open the Resource Panel. Click on Table of Contents. To find the TOC by navigating to a book title from Sefaria’s homepage: Click on the category of text (e.g. when looking for the book of Exodus, click on Tanakh). Click on the title of the desired book. To find the TOC by using the search bar: Type the title of the desired book into the search bar, located at the top right corner of your screen. Click on the entry preceded by the book icon to open the relevant TOC. Note: When navigating texts in Sefaria Library App, the Table of Contents is found in a different location.>>> Learn more about the Sefaria Library App Book-Specific Features of the Table of Contents When navigating books of the Torah, you can navigate by weekly Torah portion (parashah). To do so, follow any of the above instructions and then: Scroll down to find the Torah Portions subheading. Click on the name of the desired parashah to open to the beginning of the portion. To see a specific aliyah (section of the portion), click on the relevant number underneath the name of the parashah. When navigating the Talmud, you can use the Table of Contents to choose between the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud. When navigating the Zohar, you can use the Table of Contents to access two different structures of the Zohar — Daf (Vilna) and Essay (Sulam).
