How to Edit a Community Translation

Currently, the Sefaria library contains two types of translations:

• Translations released into the Creative Commons as a result of Sefaria's arrangement and funding or licensed by Sefaria through agreements with publishers and individuals
• Community translations, written and shared by individuals with Sefaria accounts.

Please note: To edit a Sefaria community translation, you must have a Sefaria account.

To edit a Sefaria community translation:

1. Log in to your Sefaria account.
2. Using the A menu (or the א menu on the Hebrew interface), found at the top right corner of your screen, make sure you’re viewing the text in a single language. Editing cannot be done in bilingual mode
3. Click on the text you want to edit to open the Resource Panel.
4. Scroll down to locate the Tools subheading.
5. Click on the word Advanced, the last option on the list.
6. Click on the words Edit Text.
7. Type your edits into the provided field.
8. Click on the word Save.

Please note: Editing translations is not possible on the Sefaria app.
