Every time you visit the Topics homepage, you will find a different collection of Topics to explore. Sefaria’s engineers have developed a tool to display a randomized selection of Topic pages in an ever-shifting word cloud. In addition, you will see a number of Feature Topics and a selection of pages related to upcoming events on the Jewish calendar.

You can access the Topics landing page in two ways:

  1. By clicking the word Topics, found in the header of the Library interface.
  2. By typing a specific keyword into the search bar on the Library homepage and selecting the result preceded by a hashtag (#).

Please note: The Topics landing page is only available on the in-browser version of the Sefaria Library.

Each Topic page provides a comprehensive overview of sources in the Library relevant to your chosen subject. On Topic pages, you’ll find the following elements:

  • The Name of the Topic
  • The Category and Description of the Topic (e.g. Biblical Characters)
  • An AI indicator, indicating that some of the text on the page has been generated by artificial intelligence.
  • A Notable Sources Tab, where you can see sources with titles and short introductions
  • An All Sources Tab, where you can see additional sources without titles and introductions.

Please note: When browsing sources in the All Sources Tab, clicking on the filter icon allows you to access a secondary search bar and to view sources in order of relevance or chronology.
